The Short Version

CheckDeposit.io is a free tool for creating printable deposit slips. Use it for legitimate banking purposes only. We're a document formatting tool, not a bank. We provide the Service as-is. You're responsible for the accuracy of your banking information. That's the gist — but please read the full terms below.

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using CheckDeposit.io (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Shoeboxed, Inc. ("we," "us," "our"), a North Carolina corporation with its principal office in Durham, NC.

2. Description of Service

CheckDeposit.io is a free, web-based tool that generates printable deposit slip documents based on information you provide. The Service also provides bank routing number lookup and printable mailing envelope generation.

We are not a bank, financial institution, money transmitter, or money services business. We do not hold deposits, initiate transactions, access your bank accounts, transfer funds, or provide any financial services. We generate printable documents only. Your relationship with your bank is governed by your bank's terms, not ours.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using CheckDeposit.io, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. User Accounts

Creating an account is optional. You may use the Service to create and print deposit slips without registering. If you choose to create an account:

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate and current information.
  • You must notify us promptly at teller@checkdeposit.io if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use CheckDeposit.io only for lawful purposes. Specifically, you agree not to:

  • Create deposit slips for bank accounts you do not own or are not authorized to deposit into.
  • Enter false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
  • Use the Service in connection with any illegal activity, including but not limited to check fraud, money laundering, identity theft, or bank fraud.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or our systems.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service in a manner that degrades performance for other users.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Service.
  • Use the Service to collect personal information of other users.

Violation of these terms may result in immediate termination of your access to the Service and may be reported to law enforcement authorities.

6. Your Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • The accuracy of all information you enter, including your name, routing number, account number, and check amounts.
  • Verifying that the routing number corresponds to your bank and account.
  • Ensuring that deposits are made to your own accounts or accounts you are authorized to deposit into.
  • Properly endorsing checks before depositing them.
  • Following your bank's specific requirements for deposit slips and mailed deposits.

We provide routing numbers from the Federal Reserve bank directory as a convenience. Always verify your routing number against your checks, bank statement, or by contacting your bank directly. Routing numbers can change, and using an incorrect routing number may result in a rejected or misdirected deposit.

7. Intellectual Property

The CheckDeposit.io name, logo, website design, and underlying software are the property of Shoeboxed, Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on our Service without our prior written consent.

You retain ownership of any information you enter into the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store and process your information solely to provide the Service to you.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
  • Routing numbers or other banking information provided through the Service are accurate, complete, or current.
  • Deposit slips generated by the Service will be accepted by any particular bank.
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements.

You acknowledge that banks may reject deposit slips for various reasons, including formatting requirements, outdated routing numbers, or their own internal policies. We are not responsible for any bank's acceptance or rejection of deposit slips generated through our Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SHOEBOXED, INC. AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00). THIS LIMITATION APPLIES EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Shoeboxed, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of the Service.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Any inaccurate information you provide through the Service.
  • Any claim by a third party related to your use of the Service.

11. Service Availability

We strive to keep CheckDeposit.io available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Durham County, North Carolina, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Shoeboxed, Inc. regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and communications, whether written or oral.
